T-Shirt ReFashion

July 27, 2010 Nicole Bennett

It started out as a boring t-shirt (cute print, boring shape, bought second-hand). I wanted to make it into a halter, based on a cute hand-me-down from my sister-in-law...

voilá!

Sorry about the poor, late-night lighting... I really love how it turned out. Can't wait to make another!

It’s been a week since we got back from Joshua Tree but I keep thinking about it! We honestly haven’t done much traveling with just the five of us. We almost always have grandparents, friends, siblings, cousins, etc with us, and we love spending time away and having fun with these people. This was a discipline for us to go away and not invite anyone along, and it was great for our family. We still plan to do lots of camping and exploring new and old places with others but we also want to try to make space for getting away with just us five sometimes. For us it’s a discipline in both embracing and pushing growth in our family culture. 💪🏼💗

This one had low expectations for this trip, and was surprised to enjoy it so much. Ah, tweens— especially this one, she seems to be truly caught between two worlds with the challenges of being young (and figuring out sensory needs and all that) and the teen years coming down the road. It’s almost like being stuck between a rock and a hard place with her, if you’ll pardon the pun. Clinging to the Rock of Ages and trusting that he’s got her. The sweet moments of mothering her are extra treasured for sure. #gospelparenting #trustinggod
So many fun memories from our short time in Joshua Tree. We all loved scrambling around on the rocks. This shot of Hallee was near Skull Rock.
Rolled into Joshua Tree and we like what we see. (So happy to get my kids in front of a pretty wall.👏🏼✨😂)
What a fun, friend-filled, chaotic, perfect way to celebrate turning 8 in a couple days. From racing cars, to street 🏀 and ⚾️, and cracking open a new Lego set with a couple of buddies, I think it was a successful afternoon. We love this almost 8-year old. 💙
