*change* is the watchword, or, why my newsletter has a new name

Remember (if you already read my newsletter) that time when I said that it was staying the same? Well, it basically is… but if 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that things are constantly changing. Lately in life, it seems like things keep changing for the worst, but here in newsletter-land, it just means I changed the name. 😉

So what’s a watchword? (Well, it’s a Veronica Mars reference for one thing. 🤗) It’s defined as a a word or phrase expressing a person's or group's core aim or belief. I wouldn’t go as so far to say that books themselves are my core belief in life. But as I was brainstorming some words and thoughts for my newsletter, I kept coming back to how vital books are to me in my day-to-day. Reading them, writing them, being surrounded by them, living life with a particular One as a foundational guide— books indeed are are a huge part of the core of me.

I love this quote from Sarah Clarkson: “The artistry of the well-crafted words used to sketch the imaginative worlds of my favorite books livened me to the mystery and splendor of the real world around me.”

I’m not sure how much I’ll be writing here on the blog moving forward; the last few years will prove that I have been spending my written words in other places (primarily my pursuits in fiction) elsewhere, and I expect that to continue to be the case. So stay in touch, via instagram and by subscribing to my newsletter, which is now affectionately titled book is the watchword, and will continue to feature writing, reading, and slice-of-life updates, sent out when I have something interesting to say or to share (which may in fact happen in the near future!).
