I love a good chick flick for the same reasons I love Jane Austen-- happy endings, heart-warming romance, witty dialogue, funny & flawed characters-- and I realized recently that I tend to watch certain ones at certain times of the year.
There are, of course, great anytime movies I have to add to this list, but some flicks just feel like they were meant to be watched during a particular season.
Here, in no particular order of preference, are my seasonal favorites.
She's All That* (prom!)
10 Things I Hate About You (prom again!)
Wimbledon (really January-June for this one)
Baseball faves that go from Spring all the way to Fall:
Moonrise Kingdom (not really a chick flick, but very summery)
Begin Again (just saw this one and loved it; it's only 99 cents to rent right now!)
Invincible (not exactly a chick flick, but there is a little Mark Wahlberg romance ;) )
You've Got Mail (all year really, but especially fall because freshly sharpened pencils)
The Prince and Me* (don't watch #2- yikes, it's bad)
A few more year-round faves:
Julie & Julia (because blogging + food!)
I'm sure there's more to add here-- what's your favorite seasonal chick flick?
* I went ahead and linked to these on Amazon where many can be rented/streamed for $3-4 usually, and the ones with the * are currently free to stream if you have a Prime account! (Affiliate links included, thank you for your support!)
